Healthy Ramen

You can always enjoy Ramen, but do so wisely. Have you ever looked at the label?!?!?! I mean…WOW! The sodium content alone is enough to dry the Sahara Desert. LOL The noodles are precooked in oil, so that isn’t wise to use either. If you follow my advice below, you may find various ways to tweak it to make it your own.

Go to the local market and find noodles that you can use that are an individual noodle packet (example: millet and brown rice ramen, organic ramen noodles, wide white rice ramen, etc.).

1 packet of noodles – cooked per package instructions

Add your precooked meat of choice (I drain a can of chicken and separate it with a fork)

You can add an egg or two to the noodles while they are cooking and then remove the shell and add it to your food either whole or sliced/diced

Add a veggie, or two, as well (I like to cook some peas and drain it before adding it to the finished product)

For flavorings…in a separate cup/bowl, I add in some of the following to taste (meaning, a little of each until I like the taste)…sesame seed oil, rice vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, low sodium soy sauce. Mix them together until blended as well as you can (you’ll see what I mean by this when you put them all together)

Once the noodles are done to taste, drain the water immediately. The longer they sit in water the squishier they become. Then add all of the other items and once you stir that well, you can add the flavorings.

There are an innumerable amount of combinations you can do. Use the imagination and see what floats your boat and makes your tummy and taste buds happy.

ENJOY!

I’m YaYa!

Welcome to my little area of the world.

I am the YaYa of one lovely Little Man, and the parent to three fantastic kids (and yes, this includes the best God chosen daughter ever). My world is green, cooler than Texas, and I live in an apartment shared with my daughter and her two fur babies (in my profile photo). My other grand fur baby lives in Texas with her family (my son, my God chosen daughter, and my Little Man). My time is spent between work, chilling in front of the TV, cooking/baking, long walks to the lake and back, embroidery, painting, reading, laughing at the cats…and lots and lots of playdates via FaceTime with my Little Man.

This is going to be my little mark to leave to my family and to the world. I probably won’t reach very many people, but I know it’ll be here and so will they. It’s my thoughts, my views, some words of advice and a plethora of other things all thrown together to allow you to “pick” my brain selectively. Mind you, I’m not much of an educated person, so a lot may be ramblings and incorrect grammar, but this is me and the inner workings of my mind attempting to work together to share things with you.

Best of luck and I hope I can amuse you and bring a smile or a laugh along the way…

Here goes nothing!
